Wooden House Preggio
- completed 2012
A modern building on a hilltop in Umbria with a fabulous view of Lake Trasimeno. It was built in wood (X-lam technology), so it is completely anti-seismic, ecological, energy efficient and super comfortable. Concrete was only used for the foundations and the construction has been very fast. Internally there is a large open living-kitchen with double volume, which gives the house a light and airy feel. It is basically a dry construction, without any need of concrete (apart from the base): just solid timber panels, metal plates and timber floor. The south-west corner is fully glazed for amazing views of Preggio and the lake. An eco-friendly, energy efficient home designed by architect Marco Carlini.
