"My dream to own a space in Italy and in particular Perugia was fulfilled in 2016. Traveling from Australia I found a studio in the very heart of the centro storico.

I sourced Marco Carlini a seasoned architect with international experience. Carlini manifested my thematic into refined schematics. A 15 square metre space in the centro storico and one of three apartments plastered in the middle of a palazzo built around 1640. Effective communication fortified quality design and building outcomes.

Carlini masterfully imagined the space to suit the most discerning traveller. Cleverly equiping the space with quality fittings and fuxtures. Furthermore, awashing the floors, splash backs and the bathroom with a warm grey coloured durable resin finish.

A white, ivory and grey colur palette further serves the space as does the mirrored panel. A space now articulated in the contemporary while paying homage to centuries past. I love my new home. Thank you Marco Carlini."

"Marco recently completed our farmhouse restoration in Umbria, a four-year project during which he acted as both architect and project manager. 

Although we had clear ideas about what we wanted to achieve, Marco’s vision and empathy for traditional buildings restoration helped to enhance many aspects of the project with beautiful results. As an architect, Marco managed to design a house for us that has all the benefits of modern amenities and environmental efficiency whilst fully retaining the feel of a traditional Umbrian farmhouse. We particularly enjoyed sharing ideas and reaching solutions together, confident that Marco was steering us in the right direction. One such example is his design of our swimming pool, incorporating a black liner that, although something we had never considered, has resulted in a stunning and unique pool. His wide experience and expertise helped to guide us through the planning permission challenges.

Achieving this project whilst living outside Italy placed a heavy reliance on Marco to project manage. He instinctively had the right balance of taking the day-to-day initiative and keeping us fully involved in important decisions. A steady stream of photographs kept us abreast of every stage of the process. His wealth of contacts allowed us to source contractors and materials that best suited our vision. 

Throughout the project Marco has been willing to help in whatever way necessary to move things forward, often by helping us to solve problems that would normally lie beyond his remit. It has been a real pleasure working with Marco."

We have been fortunate to meet up with Marco Carlini, just before we started our construction project of house and pool in Umbria. Thanks to his skillful and patient guidance, we now have our dream house. It is built with high priority on both economy as well sustainability and low energy consumption - and we a pleased to say that all parameters were met. Today we are the happy owners of an energy class A house, and we enjoy a fresh and healthy house, every time we come on vacation. Marco was recommended to us by some friends for whom Marco had carried out a number of projects. Marco has proved himself to us as being outstanding and great value for money. We were thinking of buying an old run down farm house and making it into a home for ourselves. Marco produced some preliminary sketches of what was possible and provided an outline budget for the work, on that basis we went ahead and made the purchase.Marco very quickly produced working drawings, they needed little adjustment by us to meet our requirements and work commenced with little delay.

Marco as an architect is excellent, but what sets him apart from the rest is his selection and appointment of the main builder and the other support contractors, heating, electrical and joinery etc. All were first class in how they worked and the finished house is a credit to Marco and the guys he appointed. The work was completed to budget and took just one month longer than the 15 months predicted, bearing in mind the hard winter they worked through and the overall result has been most pleasing.

As a follow on we have appointed Marco to design and assist with the construction of our pool, again we have not been disappointed."
